At DBSJP we are proud of our exclusive partnership with the Dubai Performing Arts Academy, run by industry professionals Lisa Scott-Lee from British Pop Group STEPS and Johnny Shentall-Lee, West End Star and Choreographer.

This partnership has enabled us to offer one of the first BTECs in Performing Arts in Dubai. We also offer an extensive performing arts programme within the DBSJP curriculum, providing students with opportunities to develop, enhance and showcase their skills. 

BTEC Level 3 in Performing Arts Diploma 

This course is one of the first in the region, run by industry professionals and supported by the talented DPA teaching staff who have taught at all the top UK Performing Arts colleges including ArtsEd, Guildford School of Acting, PPA Academy, Performers, Masters and Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts.

The course has been designed to develop and nurture ‘Triple Threat’ performers who are confident in all three disciplines of performing which include singing, acting and dance. The course is supported by first-class facilities including a 500-seat theatre, four dance studios, a recording suite, a radio studio and a purpose-built Sixth Form Centre.

The course is project-based and aims to develop personal attributes which are transferable across all areas of future study and work. Some of these skills include communication, teamwork, negotiation, self-management, adaptability, resilience and self- monitoring.

Course Details:

The course is a two-year programme consisting of a total of 720* guided learning hours split across multiple units and is aligned with current industry practice, university teaching and assessment methodology.

Mandatory units:

  • Unit 1: Performing Arts Skills Development
  • Unit 2: The Global Performing Arts Industry
  • Unit 3: Personal Performing Arts Profile
  • Unit 4: Collaborative Performing Arts Project

* This course offers the equivalent of 2 A Levels for the BTEC Level 3 Diploma. The Extended Diploma (1080 GLH) is also available and offers the equivalent to 3 A Levels.
